untitled

I found the stars had dimmed,
their silvery light grown dull and hard.
I found the moon had paled,
its face a faded memory in the past.
I found the night had chilled,
its embrace stealing all inner warmth.
I found the years had failed,
their sweet promise unfulfilled.
Despair and disappointment at another doomed defeat.
Lethargy and loneliness at a legacy of loss.
The finality of it all intrigues.
Fall like a leaf when the wind fails.
