"my god, she looks like anime!"
i must confess that anime is cool, but the extent to which some people go on about it is downright silly... but I have to admit that I've always thought that if one of the characters could step off the page, or come out of the TV and be real, I'd have to admit that they are cute... last night i ran across someone that looked like she'd been drawn into real life from a cartoon... what a rush. startling. fantastically different. a friend told me that it's quite common in asian countries to find people that look remarkably alike to anime superstars, to the point they're near perfect emulations of them. impressive i guess, i just thought that the girl looked cool, and in some strange way i thought it was kindof sexy... something different to think about anyway. someone paid me a compliment last night at the club that was so nice in a "gee, that's really cool man! thanks!" kindof way... he said I looked like George Stroumboulopoulos which made me sigh happily internally and grin like 3 year old in a candy shop externally. it was really was nice to hear. George is a sexy man with an intense personality, and i think he's damn hot. a comment that definitely made its mark in the annals of my 30th birthday. the cake my friends got me was another memorable moment, as i wasn't expecting it and i think we were all scared half to death that the candles were going to set the house on fire. a good laugh that's for sure, i think the intense light scarred my retinas... thirty seems just as fun as twenty, so i guess that my fond memories of birthdays will continue, at least until i hit fifty, then i think i'll have to at least reconsider growing up. but that's for another day, down the road. fuck what a fun night, and what a fun day.
