Fucking bat genitals.

Yesterday was an almost perfect day. Almost. I began my morning by waking up almost on schedule. With only a slight delay in my morning agenda due to an unmitigatedly unavoidable circumstance, I made it to work almost on time. The day progressed in an almost fabulous manner, with the phone remaining almost quiet, the influx of repairs almost at nil and my productivity almost at twice its normal level. Amazingly, the workday sped by and with a brief sojourn at Tim Hortons for my lunch break, it seemed like the hours between 9 and 6 almost didn't exist. I walked home from work in cold, but almost comfortable walking weather. I stopped at the store and picked up provisions for dinner. I cooked up a dish of my own creation (apologies to a few thousand years of Italian traditional fare, but I almost make it my own way) and plated it like a professional. I was almost in heaven. I sat down in front of the TV to relax and enjoy while I ate and proceeded to dump half the plate of food on my lap. I generously poured the other half on the sofa. And that, my friend, is why I had an almost perfect day. Oddly enough, I struggled through the cleanup of this debacle and as I did not want to waste the food, I re-plated it for myself and it looked almost as good as the first attempt. This time, I decided to keep it on the plate and enjoy it. Splendiferous dahlink.

As I mentioned them in the above recollection, I thought I'd point out that Tim Hortons website is freakishly scary. After looking at it, I thoroughly expect to be able to say 'TEA' and a tea will be pushed through my monitor towards me with a hand belonging to some poor worker they've magically implanted in the internet at minimum wage. Truly scary.

It is a new year, though it seems the same as the old one to me :) The holiday break had wonderful rejuvenative powers as I visited family at home on the Cape. November and december had been particularly trying and I was well worn out by the time the final countdown to Christmas eve was on. Luckily, visiting, family, friends and good food put the OOMPH back in my daily routine and have made this month much more enjoyable. Hooray for fun in the winter :)

Empire Theatres is playing opera live in HD on the big screen from the Metropolitan Opera. I just though it was exceptionally funny and exceptionally fantastic. Kudos to them for finding a way to bring the opera to opera-deficient parts of the world. I intend to go to the January 12th showing of Macbeth, as the theatre is in the same building complex I live in. Life is good.
